HOLE
PUNCHER

Purpose: A node tool to punch a procedurally-based hole in a face (or faces)

Location: Asset Browser > B3D Tools > B3D_HolePuncher

How To Use: After adding the tool to the asset library:

  1. Go into edit mode

  2. Make a face selection

  3. Run B3D_HolePuncher (found in the F3 search menu)

  4. Choose your parameters and apply

Divisions - How much geometry to allocate to the punched hole

Radius - Size of the punched hole

Depth - How deep to extrude into the face

Extra Details: This tool can be used for multiple faces at a time. If a face is very small (or thin) you’ll need to choose a small enough radius (which will get rid of any overlapping geometry). Works best with coplanar polygons (which is generally all non-degenerate polys).
